Hong Kong Supports Artificial Intelligence with Subsidy Scheme
At first, many believed developing artificial intelligence (AI) would result in being taken over by robots. Now, the sentiment toward AI is heading towards leveraging it for increased productivity and innovations. Governments around the world have encouraged organizations to adopt AI. One such move is from Hong Kong, which has launched an artificial intelligence subsidy scheme.
The scheme is thanks to the $3 Billion that the government allocated in the recent budget announcement. Applicants will need to submit their applications to Cyberport. It will conduct a hybrid information session on 10 October.
Empowering Progress: The Role of the AI Supercomputing Centre
The program’s primary goal is to assist local universities, research institutes, and businesses in using Cyberport’s AI Supercomputing Centre (AISC) to achieve scientific breakthroughs.
Unlocking Potential: Subsidies and Scientific Breakthroughs
Eligible consumers may typically get subsidies under the program of up to 70% of the AISC service list price. Submission applications will be reviewed and approved by the government-appointed Committee of the AI Subsidy Scheme.
The AISC’s first phase facility is anticipated to open for business this year. The processing power of the AISC will gradually rise to about 3,000 petaFLOPS.
