Complete Your Hong Kong Tax Returns Before the 2 July Deadline
All individuals were issued with their Hong Kong 2019/20 on 1 June 2020. Taxpayers must file and complete their returns by the 2 July 2020 deadline.
All income tax returns should be completed and submitted to the Hong Kong Inland Revenue Department (IRD). This must be done within a month from the date of issue. Sole proprietors can file their returns before the 1 September 2020 deadline.
Users of the e-filers (eTAX system) will be issued a 1-mont automatic extension. Therefore, deadlines can be extended up to 3 August 2020. Sole proprietors will have their deadlines extended to 3 October 2020.
If you’re an eTAX user, you may log into your account to file your Hong Kong 2019/20 tax returns. If you have not received your tax return because of an address change, you must notify the IRD immediately.
Duplicate copies of your tax return form can be obtained in person at the IRD’s Enquiry Service Centre, 1/F, Revenue Tower, 5 Gloucester Road, Wan Chai. Alternatively, you may contact the IRD staff at 187 8022 during office hours.
